Harnessing Mannerisms

The sun setting over the ocean horizonMuch has been written about Servant Leadership over the years and the phrase was originally coined by Robert K. Greenleaf in an essay he wrote in 1970. A servant-leader focuses primarily on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to which they belong. Traditional leadership accumulates power whereas servant leadership helps people develop and perform at their best by giving away power and attention!

There are mannerisms we can adopt that will help us harness the attitude of a servant.

Here they are:

  1. A servant leader seeks unity and harmony with others
  2. A servant leader has no hidden agendas.
  3. A servant leader has a humble disposition. They empty themselves of any glory.
  4. A servant leader honors others above themselves.
  5. A servant leader heeds the interests of others.

Have a great week and may your leadership bleed generosity this week.
